Vehicle Highlights
2009 Volkswagen GTI is largely unchanged, but the high-performance R32 model has been discontinued. The sporty hatchback is front-wheel drive and either 2 or 4 doors. Both body styles have a turbo-charged 200-hp 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and a choice of manual or automatic transmission. The all-wheel-drive R32 with the V6 engine was a limited edition model in 2008 that will not return in 2009. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, anti-skid system, curtain side airbags and front and rear side airbags. The Autobahn package includes leather upholstery and a sunroof. Heated front seats are newly standard on the 2009 GTI.
